PPE for Disability Support Professionals
Choose the right personal protective equipment for the task, put it on and take it off in the right order, and use it without compromising a participant's dignity.
About this certificate
This is a non-accredited professional development module and the Certificate of Completion is not a Statement of Attainment. It does not replace formal respirator fit testing, which some employers require for P2/N95 respirators. Always follow your employer's infection prevention and control procedures.
About this module
Personal protective equipment protects you and the people you support — but only when the right item is used correctly. This module covers standard and transmission-based precautions, gloves, gowns and aprons, surgical masks versus P2/N95 respirators and fit checking, eye protection, the correct sequence for donning and doffing, common errors that cause self-contamination, disposal, and communicating with participants when you are wearing PPE.
